Game Preview: PHI v TB
The Philadelphia Eagles are at home against the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Thursday Night Football.
These teams are coming off of very different wins. The Eagles having completed a fourth quarter comeback after trailing the entire game, and the Bucs coming off of a blowout victory against Miami.
There’s no easy way to put it other than this is going to be a tough one for the birds. This is arguably the best offense that they have faced and definitely the best defense they have seen.
What could help the Eagles out a bit is how they matchup against their opponents. While Tampa Bay ranks first in rushing yards allowed per game, they rank last in passing yards per game. We have seen that the Eagles do not run often and tend to lean towards passing plays. While I have been calling for more Miles Sanders this season, this is one game where it will make sense to air it out.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles also matchup fairly well on paper. The Bucs too like to operate through the air as opposed to the ground, and Philadelphia’s defense is better suited to stop the pass than the run.
This game will mark Jalen Hurts’ double digit start at 10. Meanwhile Tom Brady is over 300 career starts.
While I do believe it will be closer than many suspect, I think the Buccaneers just have too much experience and fire power.
Eagles - 23
Buccaneers - 30
